Contact Tassie Trails

Write to Tassie Trails with a planning question about walking, riding, food and drink regions, Hobart day trips or group days out. Official park-pass and closure questions belong with Parks & Wildlife Service Tasmania.

A booking desk or emergency service

Contact Tassie Trails when you want a planning conversation, not an operational one. The useful messages describe where you will sleep, how many days you have, whether the group includes children or mixed fitness, and whether the hope is a walk, a ride, a tasting valley or a shared Hobart outing. With that, we can point you at the right corridor on this site and at the official pages that hold the live detail.

The form below sends a written message. It is not a booking engine, a tour desk or an emergency line. If a track is closed, a road is iced or a fire ban is in force, you need Parks & Wildlife Service Tasmania, the Bureau of Meteorology or emergency services — not an editorial inbox.

When to write to us

Write if you are choosing between the Tasman Peninsula and Bruny and cannot tell, from a map, that they are different days. Write if you are landing in Launceston and want to know whether Derby, the Tamar and Cradle Mountain can share a long weekend. Write if a paragraph on a hub page is unclear and you want it sharpened.

Include the month you are travelling. Tasmanian daylight, ferry queues and alpine closures change the same itinerary from July to January. Include whether you will have a car. Many cellar doors and trail towns assume one; some Hobart beer days do not need one.

If your question is “do I need a parks pass?”, the answer is already on the planning page: yes, for national parks, via official PWS channels. If your question is “what does a pass cost this season?”, open the PWS park-pass page. We will not quote a fee that the manager can change.

When to write to someone else

Parks & Wildlife Service Tasmania handles passes, alerts, shuttles at Cradle Mountain, track grades and park conduct. Service Tasmania can help you buy a pass in person. Ferry managers handle Bruny and Maria Island sailings. Wine Tasmania orients the wine community; individual cellar doors handle their own bookings. Police, ambulance and the state emergency channels handle anything that is actually urgent.

A message to this site cannot move a closure, hold a hut or change a ferry.

What we do with a message

The form asks for a name, an email address and a message. Use those fields accurately so a reply can reach you. Do not send payment details, passport numbers or other documents we do not need. The privacy page explains how enquiry information is treated.

We cannot take attachments through this form, and we cannot arrange a phone call. If you need to correct a factual error — a misplaced corridor, an outdated official name — say so plainly. Corrections that can be checked against PWS or another primary source are the ones we can act on.

Before you press send

Read the hub that already matches your question. Walking, riding, Hobart, the north, groups, beer, wine and planning exist so that the common questions have a public answer. If you still need a human sentence after that, the form is here.

Travelling tomorrow morning? Open the PWS alert for the park you named, the ferry timetable if an island is involved, and the Bureau forecast for the elevation you will actually stand on. Then enjoy the day you still have, even if it is a city ridge instead of a cape.

Questions people ask

What can I contact Tassie Trails about?
Use the form for planning questions — which Hobart corridor to choose, how Derby sits relative to Launceston, or whether a walk and a tasting day can share a region. For parks passes, closures and emergencies, contact Parks & Wildlife Service Tasmania or emergency services.
Do you book walks, ferries or cellar doors?
No. Book multi-day tracks and park products through official PWS channels, ferries through the ferry manager, and tastings through the venue. We can help you choose a corridor; we cannot hold a place.
How quickly will someone reply?
Enquiries are read as they arrive. There is no advertised response time and no phone desk. If you are travelling tomorrow, rely on official park and ferry pages rather than waiting for a reply.

Official park help

Parks & Wildlife Service Tasmania remains the source for passes, alerts and track grades. Use that channel when the question is operational.
